Turning Back Time : Cissbury Ring
Cissbury Ring is my new favourite hot-spot for perspective. This Iron Age Hill Fort (the largest in Sussex) dates back over 5,000 years and on a clear day boasts views that extend seemingly as far as forever. The steep climb to the top is rewarded with huge vistas over the South Downs and out to the sea. It feels truly timeless.
The star of the show for me will always be the New Forest wild ponies. These ponies play an important role by grazing away to restore the iconic features of the landscape.
That said, they sometimes like posing for the cameras too!
