Northern Ireland

There's so much to keep you occupied in Northern Ireland, and it's easy to see why it is scouted as a location for so many film and television series. I spent my week there exploring Belfast and The Coastal Route (including Giant's Causeway, Dark Hedges and Tollymore Park). Tourist hotspots such as Giant's Causeway and The Dark Hedges can get very busy with bus loads of sightseers', so I would recommend travelling to these locations at more unconventional times of the day if you want to really soak up the atmosphere in solitude. For Giant's Causeway, a 6am start meant I had pretty much the whole place to myself, and by 8pm at The Dark Hedges the road cleared of cars and people. Well worth the wait.
